It’s time to raise a glass to Overton Park! In honor of the 125th anniversary of the park and the 120th anniversary of the Overton Park 9 golf course, Old Dominick is proud to announce a special blend of straight bourbon whiskeys called Squirrel Tale. This one-of-a-kind whiskey celebrates the role Overton Park has in so many Memphians` stories. With only 700 bottles produced, and a portion of proceeds donated to Overton Park Conservancy, this spirit will be available only through Old Dominick beginning on Friday, March 20.
Purchasers are welcome to drop by the downtown distillery at 305 S. Front St. from 12:00 to 7:00 PM on March 20 to purchase bottles, sample Squirrel Tale cocktails, and shop Overton Park Conservancy`s spring merch line. A ticketed Beyond the Barrel tour and Cocktail Class with the Old Dominick team will take place beginning at 6:30 PM. Attendees will receive Old Dominick swag, tour coupons, and custom Squirrel Tale cocktail recipe cards, and they will be entered to win two tickets to Fred Minnick’s book signing event at Old Dominick on April 20th. Tickets are $85 per person and available at https://bit.ly/squirreltalewhiskey or at the link in our bio. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate and tell us YOUR squirrel tales from Overton Park!

It`s going to rain on our dog parade... ☂️ The forecast is looking grim for this Saturday, so we`re moving Mardi Growl to next Saturday, March 14! Same time, same place, same energy, one extra week to work on your dogs` outfits for the costume contest. See you next weekend! ...
Every year around this time, a walk in the Old Forest means you may get some tiny flying insects to the face. It can be annoying, but they are totally harmless ants just looking for love. Here`s a video we put together a couple years ago that explains what`s going on with the unique creatures known as the American Winter Ant. ...
Spring glow-up: our restrooms are being pressure-washed and repainted this week! The East Parkway facilities were completed today by our excellent Echo Systems crew, and the Rainbow Lake facilities will follow tomorrow.
With the spring weather, the park is getting busier, so please let us know if you see any maintenance needs! We are hearing from folks about some of the water fountains not being turned on; this is because the City of Memphis waits until after the typical last freeze date to begin turning them back on for the spring. Once that date passes, they`ll have water fountains to turn on all over town, including at Overton Park. Bring your water bottle with you, or visit the golf clubhouse during open hours--you can fill your bottle at the water fountain inside or purchase a drink from the pro shop.

In the heart of Memphis lies a 9-hole course with a big mission. What started as a wild idea among a couple of passionate local golfers has turned into a powerful movement to grow the game of golf and give back to the city they love.
The Overton Park 99 is a grassroots fundraiser where participants walk 99 holes—yes, walk—around the Overton Park 9 golf course in a single day. It’s not just about endurance; it’s about making an impact. Every step, swing, and blister supports three incredible causes: Overton Park Conservancy, the Overton Park Junior Open, and the Loren Roberts Foundation.
This unique event blends grit, community spirit, and a deep love for the game. It brings together golfers, families, and supporters to rally around Memphis` green spaces, youth development, and future champions.
Crazy? Maybe. But in Memphis, we believe in bold ideas—and walking 99 holes is just the beginning.
This year’s Overton Park 99 is happening Monday, June 1. The field is almost set, but we’re looking for a few more brave golfers to join the fun. If you’d like to participate, send an email to info @ overtonpark.org and we’ll get you connected.
