Do you spend a lot of time here?
Want to help make the park a better place?
Then join our team!
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. Overton Park’s success depends on a dedicated group of volunteers, who we call Team Overton Park, who create momentum and inspire others to take action for our park.
The Overton Park Conservancy volunteer program offers the opportunity to be a park advocate, give back to the community, have fun, and make new friends with like-minded people.
Our volunteer program encompasses activities from tree planting to kudzu removal to reporting observations during your park visit. You can either join a scheduled volunteer work day, bring your company or organization out for a project, or submit observations on your own schedule. Our primary volunteer activities are:
- Park monitoring, where you report maintenance needs, interesting wildlife spottings, or observations of activities to the Conservancy via an online form
- Volunteer work days, where you join a Conservancy activity such as repairing the limestone trail, planting flowers, or refreshing mulch at Overton Bark
- Special events, where you assist with setup, event activities, and/or teardown for A Day of Merrymaking or A Magical Night at Overton Park
- Organizational events, where your business or organization gets in touch with us to develop a project that benefits both you and the park
All Team Overton Park volunteers will receive a monthly e-mail communication from us letting you know about upcoming opportunities, recapping past events, and sharing interesting observations from your fellow volunteers. (Sign up here!) We’ll also host volunteer appreciation events during the year so you can come and meet other people who are engaged in the future of the park.
Joining the program is easy. Simply fill out our online volunteer application and we’ll be in touch!
